One thing we cannot do as bodies…escape gravity.
Gravitas is good. Grounded is good. Sagging? Stalling? Hmmmm.
To really play with gravity, first honor it.
Body Wisdom: In improvisation as performance early InterPlayers learned this rule: We love going down to the floor, but there are few good ways to get up. In fact it feels downright unnatural. The rule? Just get up! Apparently, nature includes ANTI-GRAVITY! Must be an art thing.
Step 1: Take a deep breath and let it out with a sigh, letting gravity help on the exhale.
Step 2: Go with gravity and release all the way into your seat. Ahhhhhhhh.
Step 3: Rise up. This requires your core, your will, and your heart.
Why rise, you ask? No need unless something is calling you….. dance, sing, share your story, make peace? Anti-gravitas. Wheeee!
Bring your fingers to the focuser in your forehead and send out a whee in every direction to free the heavies. Or……maybe not. Take a load off! It’s a great way to be kind to yourself and the planet.
